Unread post sarah's aayla secura costume
my boyfriend and i decided that we wanted to go to our friends fancy dress party as star wars characters (our favourites) and so we chose aayla and darth maul, but then came the task of making both costumes my self, without patterns.
so it took me about 2 days to make each costume and for the amount of effort i put in it came out better than expected so im really happy.
i used the complete wermos guide to making the lekku. and i was very happy with how they turned out. they look a bit floppy in the pictures but that was only because i painted my face with water based paint first so it kept getting rubbed when i was putting the lekku on so i couldnt adjust them as much as usual without the painting.
i know the costume isn't really screen accurate but i thought that it would still give the same effect.
ps, i was in such a rush to leave as we were running late and i forgot to draw on some eyebrows! hah

You both look wonderful and happy! It looks like you had fun.

It always impresses me what we can do when we 'don't know how to do it right' (like with patterns or just whatever we find out later is considered 'proper'), or when there's a tight deadline.
