So for my Halloween costume I knew I wouldn't have time to put together the entire costume correctly (mainly because I can't afford to spend that much all at once) so I'm going for more of a generic twi'lek smuggler for now. Thought I'd post a picture anyway, just for constructive criticism.

The lekku are done, and the head wrap is done, minus the main shiny bit in the middle. I can't decide if I'm going to make that out of resin or just sculpt it out of something else.

here's a closeup of the blaster as well. I'm pretty proud of these, even if they do have to have orange tips (I live in the city, and I'll get shot if they don't)

Thanks for the kind words!

The belt is from off ebay, it's just Han Solo's belt with a few minor changes. The name of the ebay store was CostumeSource (I think?) and it actually wasn't too expensive.

the blasters are just Nerf guns I got at Toys r us for $9 each. I took off a few parts with a modeling saw and covered up areas I didn't like (like the Nerf logo) with plasticard and hot glued it on. I then spray painted them black, then silver, and then brought up the highlights by hand with gold paint and black wash. The gear was cut out of a second layer of plasticard and then glued on top to give it a little more dimension.

Thats what he said he was going to do with a nerf gun but i hadnt seen any painted that well.

I like the cape look as opposed to the robe.

so tonight was the night, and I didn;t get nearly enough pictures, myself. Tons of them out on the streets of SF, though.

Here's the boyfriend and me (he went as darth Malgus, naturally, and made his whole costume out of cardboard!)

Please note, these were both taken at the end of the night, so hairs are sticking out and I am in a general state of disarray.

It came together nicely. The blaster is awesome and the blue paint looks great on you! Your boyfriend did a great job with his costume too especially the armor. It doesnt look like cardboard at all.
